2008-2009 Community College Scholarship Program

In keeping with its commitment to academic excellence, Wayne State University annually sponsors scholastic awards for outstanding community college students. WSU Community College Scholars Program awards are given each year on a competitive basis.

The Wayne State University Scholars Program for Community College Students is designed to provide two-year tuition scholarships of varying amounts to selected community college students who have demonstrated outstanding scholastic ability. This award is based entirely on academic achievement and does not prohibit application for need-based financial aid.

Awards begin the fall semester. To be considered for the award, a candidate must: Be a current, recognized Michigan resident or a resident of the four Good Neighbor Counties in Ohio (defined as a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident who has resided in Michigan or Ohio for the appropriate length of time before the first day of class).

An application for admission to Wayne State University must also be submitted. Selections are made in late June. Recipients of the award will be notified by mail no later than July 14, 2008. The preferred deadline for acceptance of the scholarship is July 31, 2008.
