How to Apply as an International Student

  1. Complete the online undergraduate international application or download a pdf version and submit it to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  2. Attach the non-refundable $50 application fee (check or money order payable Wayne State University. Checks drawn on foreign banks should carry the notation "Payable in US funds plus service charges.") Cash is not accepted.
  3. Submit official transcripts, mark sheets or other appropriate records of all secondary and/or university level grades/marks, and a description of courses (if available). Do not record grades of one or more colleges or universities on the transcript of another institution.
  4. Music and dance majors may require auditions. See the individual department sites for more information.
  5. Please all 4 to 6 weeks for processing.
  6. Submit TOEFL or MELAB and TWE official score reports.
  7. Submit the Statement of Financial Support form.
  8. Submit the Bank Statement form.
  9. Submit a photocopy of your current visa documents if you are currently holding a nonimmigrant immigration status (H1, B1, F2, TN).

Suggested Application Dates

International Undergraduate Students:
May 1 - Fall semester (September - December)
Sept. 1 - Winter semester (January - April)
Jan. 2 - Spring/summer semesters (May - August)
